There’s a great quiz here on Sproost {found via Esthetic Eclectic} which will help you find your decorating style. Mine is apparently 100% Cottage Chic, which, while I hate the name, seems to be pretty much spot on.
What’s yours?

well. I am 40% cottage chic and 30% each nantucket and french eclectic…
his makes sense since our funky cottage is on a beach, i am a magpie when it comes to decorating and the previous owner had it done in French country, a wee bit of which I purchased from her
hat was fun!t

I’m French Eclectic, with a bit of Cottage Chic and Classic thrown in. Sounds about right to me, I’m into a bit of luxe country.

Paola, I agree it must be a bit of a misnomer if someone with a soft spot for interior neon is 100% Cottage Chic!
I scored 67% French Eclectic and 33% Vintage Modern, which I would actually reverse if evaluating myself. I think I’m too critical for this exercise…some of the rooms had objects that were “my style” but the overall execution didn’t appeal to me.
Fun, though!

I know what you mean about being critical… I had to force myself to say ‘Love It’ but found ‘Hate It’ SUPER easy 🙂
I can just see one of those nice white neon lamps in a whitewashed cottage with stone floors and a funky rug…

I am Rustic Revival girl, apparently, at least on the second attempt. This makes more sense than Nantucket, since while I adore being by the sea I do not possess a single faux-naif carved wooden seagull/sailing boat, billowing white curtains or blue striped ticking. If I DID have a little place by the sea – oh, if only – I would do it up in ’50s kitsch.
Suspect any Sproost spy casting their eye over my own living room would pigeonhole it as Camden Town 1985, since that was the last time we spent any proper money on furniture. In my heart, though, I suspect I am a New Gustavian.
Can i go back to work now?
