From time to time I see forlorn teacups on Portobello market and think how easy it would be to make those teacup candles that you sometimes see in gift shops. And now of course Martha Stewart has posted up instructions for making teacup candles on her website. And I am seriously thinking that I would love to give them a try.
I’m sure hot wax and toddlers are highly compatible.

You definitely should try making them, but a word of advice, I always use teacups that have no pattern inside, especially gold bits, because if they are really old the wax can flake it off (depending on how it was applied of course). Have fun and no waxing of babies!

I used to make them from old Marmite jars when I was a student. Hope helps. 😀

Brilliant idea. I used to make candles from all sorts when I was younger… I made floating candles using a hexagonal yoghurt pot and experimented with pine needles in the wax until that was banned in our household due to their flammable nature…

I think that unpredictable flammable candles sound exciting. Do you take orders?
