Why on earth is this bad? Absolutely the best encouragement in the world to get children reading is to be absorbed in reading yourself – much better than reading “Miss Dolly” in a desperate ‘can-I-have-my-gin-and-tonic-now’? voice…
Sorry, responding to baby post again. Err, nice chair, in post above..
What a sweet and lovely image. I’d love to know what section she’s reading, is it celebrity goss, the fincial pages or perhaps she’s scanning for media coverage of her wonderful mother’s online shop?!
Your a good, good mummy, she looks utterly absorbed.
And I love lissie’s comment above about the G+T.
Actually she is reading from Richard Scarry’s Word Book (in Italian no less – not that we believe in hothousing or anything).
I don’t believe she has the faintest idea what on earth the pictures are about, but she finds it utterly mesmerising.

That is beautiful! I have a photo of me as a kid sitting and reading on a sofa with my mum too- brings back happy memories!
