Very early this morning we were woken by a ‘thundersnow’ – a thunderstorm and blizzard in one.  All very rare for Seattle and particularly for us being so close to the lake.  Seattle is now of course completely paralysed with more snow expected at the weekend- will we be able to escape for Christmas?

That’s a splendid looking Christmas cake. I ice mine in much the same way, though I buy ready made marzipan (I draw the line at the ready rolled stuff) and top off with the little decorations we’ve had for years. (Usually have to pick off the old icing from the bottom of them!)

It looks Britishly delightful, Paola! (Ironic that I would bastardize the English language using the word “British”. Eh…that’s an American for ya’!) But it does look both charming and tasty! Stay warm and safe! HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

We were just talking about the Christmas cake with my boyfriend’s family the other night! And I almost miss the snow even though I spent a great time complaining about how inconvenient it was.
Have a very Happy New Year!
